JVC KD-AVX77 Players

The JVC KD-AVX77 is a single, detachable faceplate DIN unit with proximate touch technology. The only buttons on the faceplate are power and eject. The rest of the faceplate is a 5.4-inch superwide (3.32:1 aspect ratio) 800 x 240 pixel resolution display.

DVD Movies not encoded for supercinemascope will look cropped, stretched or bordered by black bars. The customizable interface allows users to choose from an array of backgrounds, virtual button layouts, and sensory motion commands such as waving your finger horizontally to skip back and forth between movie chapters.

You can hide the virtual buttons or set it on the screen depending on your needs. . Other features include an AM/FM radio, a single disc DVD/CD player supporting MP3, WMA, WAV, and AAC formats, USB connection ports for other media players i.e. iPod, bluetooth capability for A2DP streaming, and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround capability, when using external amps for the center and subwoofer channels.

The JVC KD-AVX77 is much better than its predecessor, El Kameleon (the KD-AVX44), in its customizable control system and iPod/iPhone interface speed enhancements.

One con still remaining is the number of screen to flip through to complete simple tasks like changing the playlist.

In-Car/Truck multimedia system builders will also find the KD-AVX77’s expandability and flexibility a great building block for their needs. But if you don’t require a lot of expandable options, you might want to find simpler, easier-to-use interfaces elsewhere.
