JVC’s KW-AVX800 is an in-dash DVD receiver that plays music and movies and handles a variety of different entertainment devices and other accessories. It has a 7” monitor with touch screen menus that make it easy to browse while driving. The monitor of the AVX800 also contains a CD changer.

 

The JVC KW-AVX800 plays music in several formats and is adaptable to different devices. It has an iPod adapter, and SD card slot for your digital music files. You can also connect a Bluetooth adapter so that you can make and receive calls throught the AVX800 if you have a compatible cell phone.

 

 

 

With the Bluetooth adapter, you can also stream the music from your cell phone. If you purchase the optional rear seat monitor, the kids can watch a movie in the back while you listen to music up front. With the optional satellite radio tuner you can expand your choices of music and even listen to sports. The AVX800 also has A/V input and output jacks, a USB port, and a rear camera input jack.

 

The JVC KW-AVX800 is compatible with navigation systems, however you have to do some exploring to find the ones that are. Some users have not been able to use it with their current navigation system.

 

Some reviews deem the JVC KW-AVX800 the best unit of its kind under $1000 because of the above-mentioned features. However, it does not play movie files from an SD card, the CD, DVD or other device load time can be slow.
