Kenwood DNX5120 Players

The Kenwood DNX5120 Receiver is a full-blown entertainment and navigational system that can be easily installed into the front dash of almost any vehicle. It boasts a TFT LCD touch screen display which is a little over 6 inches with 480 x 234 pixel resolution included.

The Kenwood full-featured navigation system has maps of the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

It also comes with over 6 million points of interest within these locations. The receiver includes AM/FM radio, DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, MP3/WMA/AAC, MPEG1/MPEG2, iPod, USB, and is HD/SAT radio-ready. The price of this product generally falls between $549 and $799 for all of these features.

Is it worth the money for this receiver?

I would have to answer yes; this unit really exceeded my expectations. The navigation has voice prompts and is simple to use. The directions can also be automatically rerouted at any time. Unfortunately, there is not an automatic update option built into this unit, but map updates are usually available once a year and cost approximately $140 through Garmin.

They have to be downloaded, copied to a cd, and transferred over to your unit. The oversized screen with an image aspect ratio of 16:9 is fantastic and the unit gives easy to follow directions and helpful voice prompts before each turn.

The receiver also boasts phenomenal sound quality. Having such a large array of compatible portable music devices is extremely convienent for those into multiple electronic devices like myself.

The only cons to this unit that I have found are that it does not come with a pre-installed traffic receiver or Bluetooth adapter, but of course these features can be added on at any time. Overall, this is an amazing receiver from Kenwood and I would recommend it to anyone interested.
